Many Illinois residents with spina bifida, including a majority of adults, rely on Medicaid for essential medical care and long-term services and supports. These services help individuals maintain their health, independence, and quality of life.
As federal budget discussions continue, the Illinois Spina Bifida Association anticipates potential funding reductions that could impact access to critical care and support services.
We encourage ISBA families and supporters to reach out to their Representative in Congress.
You can get your Representative’s contact info here: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative
or call U.S. the Capitol Switchboard: (202) 224-3121, give the operator your zip code, and he/she will connect you with your Representative’s office. Make it clear that you are calling as a constituent.
Ask them how they plan to protect medical care and long-term services for people with spina bifida who receive Medicaid. By sharing your concerns and experiences, you can help ensure that individuals with spina bifida continue to receive the care they need.
