Thanks to a generous grant from the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln, the Illinois Spina Bifida Association (ISBA) has provided funds to people living with spina bifida to help them with expenses during hospital stays. Residents of Cass, Logan, Montgomery, Morgan, and Sangamon Counties received ISBA funds.
Spina bifida is a lifelong neurological condition that affects the spine and is usually apparent at birth. Spina bifida can cause physical and developmental disabilities that range from mild to severe. Spina bifida is a complex condition that, for many, requires specialized medical care and daily attention to health and wellness.
“We are grateful to the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln for partnering with us in service to children, adults, and families living with spina bifida,” said ISBA Executive Director Matt Larsen. “With the Foundation’s help, we can provide services to statewide residents of Illinois living with spina bifida, with no membership requirements.”
